During a recent appearance on CNBC’s “Big Ideas,” right-wing media darling Ann Coulter said a bunch of really ignorant stuff to host Donny Deutsch. But perhaps, none of her utterances was worse than this one:
“We [Christians] just want Jews to be perfected.”
A stunned Donny Deutch, himself a Jew, tried to give Coulter a way out by saying “Wow, you don’t really believe that, do you?” But the Aryan ice queen would not relent, stating that where getting to heaven is concerned, Christianity is “more like Federal Express.”
Well thank you, Ann, for pointing out the futility of my existence. I mean, since I’m not Christian, I guess I might as well come to terms with the fact that there’s no guarantee I’ll wind up in heaven. After all, if Christianity is like FedEx, non-Christianity must be like the regular postal service. Man, it looks like I’m doomed to take the long and circuitous route to heaven—assuming I don’t end up in an altogether different place. Everyone knows how unreliable the regular postal service is.
Boy, Christians are so lucky! I mean, they know they’re going to end up in heaven, unlike the rest of us poor souls who have no idea where we’ll end up. I guess because Christians like Ann Coulter are so certain they’re going to heaven, they don’t even need to be decent people here on earth. That probably explains why she recently had this to say about four women whose husbands had died in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks: “I’ve never seen people enjoying their husbands’ deaths so much.” Come to think of it, this knowledge that Christians are ensured a place in heaven explains why so many of them don’t even bother living by the “Christian” principles they themselves so loudly proclaim. Take, for example, the virulently anti-gay Rev. Ted Haggard, who enjoyed performing oral sex on a male escort. And let’s not forget the pro–family values Senator from Idaho, Larry Craig, who was arrested in a men’s bathroom in the Minneapolis airport for soliciting sex from an undercover police officer.
Ann Coulter has really earned my gratitude for showing me the light. I generally wouldn’t trust a woman whose adam’s apple is bigger than mine but, since she makes such a compelling argument, I have to make an exception for her. I will run, not walk, to the nearest house of Christian worship to accept Jesus Christ as my lord and savior.
Then again, if that means ending up in the same afterlife as Ann Coulter, I think I’ll take my chances with the other place.

i just saw the video clip you were talking about. wow!
i believe that ann coulter say the things she says because she wants attract attention to herself and sell whatever she’s selling.
but to stop and think about the fact that millions of Americans agree on that point, and others that she makes, is a scary thought. and she influences many more too. because of the big microphone all the networks give her to get ratings. incredible…

hardknocklife, Donny tried to get Ann to take back what he said, then he ended the segment with a sarcastic comment about her. You can watch the video on my site (right hand side of page). As for the huge pic of AC, it was the only one I could find that showed her prominent adam’s apple. I’ve since found a smaller pic that also highlights her massive adam’s apple. I hope that one’s more to your liking.

Eric, I think CNBC is betting on Ann Coulter saying something ridiculous so they too are definitely getting ratings every time she says something controversial. But she’s still a right-wing media darling, even after calling John Edwards a faggot.

Hey Ron, no need to be a prick. A Jew is someone who practises the Jewish faith as outlined in the Torah (or the Old Testament if you’re a gentile). A Hebrew is incorrect in my view as Hebrew is a language, not a nationality. Calling somebody a Hebrew would be like calling them a French. An Israelite is the name used in the Bible for the people of Israel, i.e., the old kingdom of the Jews referenced in the Old and New Testaments. Today, citizens of the state of Israel are called Israelis
You should do some research before you post ignorant comments to other people’s blogs. Clearly you are trying to sound intelligent by citing “some interesting articles” you read. I’m not impressed. A truly intelligent person does not warn others to do “research” before answering questions. Knowledge does not come solely from “articles.”
Also, since you asked, a Semite is a person who speaks one of many semitic languages. Semitic languages include languages like Arabic, Hebrew, Amharic, Syriac, and Aramaic. However, the term “anti-Semite” was coined in Germany as a euphemism for “Jew-hater.” In Germany, the only people who were considered Semites (accurately or not) were the practitioners of the Jewish faith. There were not many Arabs or Amhara or Syrians in Germany at the time the term was coined so everybody understood “Semite” to mean “Jew.” Ergo, “anti-Semite” was understood to mean “Jew hater.”

I didn’t know Ann Coulter was still consider 2b a “right wing media darling” after her calling some Democratic politician–I forget who–a faggot. She was a speaker at a Republican convention, and I’d like to think the organizers learned their lesson and now know she’s at best a performance artist and at worst a classical white supremacist. Are you sure this isn’t a repeat from a year ago–if it isn’t, what else would CNBC expect?
