Beautiful… Redhead in the Snow, eh? Where is the cemetary photo taken?
I have to finally buy a camera and learn how to use it…
Abdul, I love the photos! Great eye and photographic touch.
Very beautiful work. You’ve got a great eye.
hi, was checking out your photos and wondered… where did you take the cemetary pic?
Hi Marimar,
I took the cemetary photo in Warsaw, Poland. Why do you ask?
hello abdul,
it’s just a beautiful picture and was curious where it was taken. i tend to take pics of cemeteries. presently i am searching for cemeteries in abu dhabi, which is where i currently live.
i’m going to have to go to poland!
Thanks Marimar!
I’m glad you like it. I was in Poland in 2003 and took an unguided tour of the Jewish cemetery in Warsaw. It’s HUGE!!! I spent about THREE HOURS exploring and still only saw about a third of it. I took that photo in the “old” part of the cemetery, which had graves going back to the mid-1800s. The “old” cemetery itself was abandoned long ago and for a long time, which is why it looks so overgrown in the photo. In some places it was like walking in a thick forest, with barely enough natural light reaching the ground. I took that photo in broad daylight in the middle of a sunny day in August, yet the shot is all dark and gloomy because of the trees overhead.
Where do you take your cemetery photos?
Marimar,
I’ve heard Eastern Europe is full of similarly beautiful abandoned cemeteries. Not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing, but at least it’s good subject matter for photographers.
Hi Abdul Kargbo,
Amazing blog with radical insights!!! But, where have you disappeared? Hope you are fine…
